My career objective is to enter research and development in the financial and investment industry. I have demonstrated strong research skills during my University post graduate project work and much of my experience has been within a team environment. Meeting deadlines has been a consistent part of my academic and working life and I have learned how to communicate with people in situations which require tact. My academic skills have given me the ability to communicate effectively on paper as well as through presentations. I am an outgoing person who is able talk to people at all levels and have been complimented on my ability to listen. I take responsibility for my own work and goals, and also enjoy working with other people to reach a common goal. Reflection is an important part of my personality and this has led me to develop a strong attention for detail without losing sight of the whole picture. This position holds a strong fascination for me and my objective is to use the quantitative and qualitative skills obtained in University to its full potential. I have an avid interest in the fields of financial risk management, in which I have just completed my Honours. My aim is to constantly pursue an increased education in the field by completing my FRM and CFA level 1s. After completion of all levels of both FRM and CFA my aim is to complete the Actuarial board exams. In my Honours year I was exposed to a number of Risk and statistically related modules which I found thought provoking and would like to utilize and extend this knowledge in a practical environment. The opportunity to work as part of an influential team, supporting clients by providing the best financial solutions is an exciting prospect and I believe the knowledge and skills built up during my time make me the perfect candidate for this role. This position particularly interests me because of my passion for Analytics. During my course, I studied topics such as Financial Risk Management, Stochastic simulation, Practical Financial Modelling, Credit Risk, various Coding programmes, and the mathematical and modelling skills learned from these modules have given me an excellent foundation for building a career in the financial world. I am an avid sportsman, with interests in football and water polo where I have achieved Provincial and University recognition. The balance between my studies and sports has taught me great time management, leadership skills, dedication and perseverance. I look forward to working in a team environment, as it gives me the space to grow both as an individual and as a member of the financial world.
