Welcome Mntambo was born and bread in Nothern KZN in Nongoma Township. I am the Diplomates of Mangosuthu University of Technology with National Diploma in Agriculture and National Agriculture Foundation Certificate in mixed farming. I also hold Junior Farm Manager Certificate from Ushukela Training Centre and Senior Certificate in Sugar Cane from South African Sugar Research Institute. I have 15 years of working experience.of which 11 years i have spent working in South African Sugar Industry and 4 years working with Department of Agriculture Land Reform and Rural Development. In sugar industry i hold position of being a trainee for 3 years and 8 years working as Supervisor and farm manager assistant. My job was that of crop production systemes and procedure for sugar cane more involved in.land preparation and planting,fertilizing,herbiciding,weeding,irrigation,pest and disease control,chemical ripening,cane burning,cane cutting,infield haulage,mechanical costing ,road logistics health and safety, compiling weekly reports and farm resource plan. In Department of Agriculture i worked as and training officer,and Verification officer for small scale growers in Agri parks and cormmecial growers.giving farmers agronomic and agricultural extention advise.
